MTO Sufi Society® and Highgate Synagogue hosted the Melodies of Unity event at MTO Shahmaghsoudi® London on Sunday 22nd February 2015. The Mayor of Haringey, Kaushika Amin opened the event which was then followed by presentations of live music and poetry from various faith groups including Highgate Synagogue, Hornsey Parish Church, Highgate Hill Murugan Temple, North West London Quakers and MTO Sufi Society’s® Zendeh Delan® Ensemble. We were joined by Hornsey and Wood Green MP, Lynne Featherstone, Founder and Chair of Mitzvah Day, Laura Marks OBE, Chair of the Women’s Interfaith Network, Lady Gilda Levy, members of Hornsey Moravian Church, Westminster Interfaith and the local community. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity and talent of our local faith groups. We would also like to thank the local police department for providing extra security for our event.
